Heat butter in a saucepan. Sprinkle in oat flakes and a little salt. Stir and toast lightly for about 15 minutes. Set aside.
Drain cherries well in a sieve. (Collect juice) Grease fireproof dish with butter. Add half of the oatmeal. Place cherries on top, then remaining oatmeal.
Mix eggs with milk in a saucepan. Pour over. Sprinkle with sugar. Place in the heated oven on the middle shelf.

Remove from the stove and bring to the table on the spot.
When to offer: As a dessert. Serve with the collected cherry juice. Preparation
