For the vegetable stew, wash the vegetables, cut into bite-sized pieces and place in the slow cooker. Add the spices, bouillon cubes and basil, pour in the boiling water and cook on LOW for about 4 to 5 hours with the lid closed, depending on the size of the vegetable pieces.

At the end of cooking time, stir well, season to taste and serve the vegetable stew.
