Make orange zest from an untreated orange with a zester or grater.

Knead the butter and flour together, add the orange zest, sugar and grated almonds and mix briskly until smooth. Let rest in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

Divide the dough into several pieces, form them into rolls and cut them into pieces about 5 cm long. Now place the individual dough rolls on the palm of your hand and form nice sticks with the second palm and your fingers.

Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 15 minutes.

In the meantime, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the still hot orange sticks.
