For the Kisch jam spicy and fiery, wash and pit the cherries. Mash the cherries, put them in a pot and add the lemon juice and the chopped chili pepper.

Bring everything to a good boil and let it steep covered overnight. Then boil again and add the jelling sugar, whiskey and chopped mint. Make a jelly test on a small plate and pour the jam into prepared, hot rinsed canning jars.

Place the finished, bottled cherry jam spicy and fiery in a cool, dark place for about 6 weeks to allow the flavors to develop! The jam will keep for about 6 months!
