Preheat the oven to 220Grd C (convection oven 200Grd C). Stir the whipping cream with the fresh cream and bring to the boil with the peeled garlic clove and cool. Remove the skin from the potatoes and cut them into slices as narrow and even as possible. Place the potato slices in a mold, do not lay them. With this mixture, the potatoes on top of each other would not be cooked, there should only be 4 layers of potatoes on top of each other. Season the potatoes with nutmeg, salt and pepper and pour on the cream mixture.

The cream mixture should fill at least half of the mold with the potatoes. But not too much, otherwise it will boil over.

Bake in the heated oven, in the middle, for about 45 to 50 minutes.

For smaller quantities, layer the potatoes, seasoning each layer separately.

Put onion slices between the rows of potatoes, or possibly apple slices or possibly pear slices ……….
