Soak the dried fruit well and swell. Heat the milk, stir in the mixed flour and bring to the boil. Add the fruit and cook well. Season with salt.

Info: Since sugar was expensive, this soup was sweetened only with fruit or perhaps honey. It was often thickened with buckwheat flour or groats. The fruit was also omitted and dry pumpernickel was put in the dessert bowl instead.
