Remove the peel from the celery and cut into narrow strips. Remove peel from two apples, also cut into narrow strips and mix both with juice of one lemon. Then add the chopped walnuts. Mix well sour cream or crème fraiche with mayo, yogurt, mustard and a little balsamic vinegar. Add dressing to the leaf salad, season with salt and pepper and let stand for 30 minutes.
Arrange the leaf salad as a bed in a deep plate, turn in the herring fillet and place on top. Form onion rings over it, put stalk capers on it and garnish with dill. Cut the remaining apple into wedges and place them all around. You can bring caviar potatoes to the table with it on a flat plate. The duration of preparation for the herring salad and caviar potatoes together is 60 min.
