For the herring salad with pomegranate, debone and dry the herring fillets. Cut the fillets into small cubes.

Peel and also dice the apple and the cooked potatoes.

Roll the pomegranate on a firm surface with a little pressure, then cut it open and take out the pomegranate seeds.

Whisk the mayonnaise with sour cream, vinegar, sugar, pepper and salt. Peel and finely chop the onion and stir into the sauce.

Fold the herring, apple pieces, potatoes and pomegranate seeds into the sour cream mixture.

Let the herring salad with pomegranate infuse for about 1 hour and then serve.
