Heat olive oil, sauté onions and mince well. Stir in tomatoes and tomato paste. Add marjoram, thyme, sugar, pepper, garlic, oregano, salt and paprika and stir. Pour in half of the red wine and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add mushrooms, add the remaining wine to the sauce and simmer for about 10 more minutes.
