Add a piece of fat and oatmeal to boiling water and cook for 45 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.
When it has cooled down, add the egg, finely chopped onion and parsley, salt and a little pepper. From this mixture, cut out large dumplings with a spoon, roll them in flour, form them into small loafs (flat slices), dip them in breadcrumbs or potato semolina and bake them in hot oil.
It is more advantageous and fat-saving to place these loaves in a frying pan lined with fat and bake them in the oven.
To improve the taste, add coarsely chopped mushrooms, which are roasted in the onions.
