For grilled artichokes, first wash and clean the artichokes and cut off the stem just below the stalk. Open the leaves of the artichokes slightly. Drizzle some lemon juice into the calyxes and lightly salt. Now drizzle generously with olive oil.
Wrap the artichokes in aluminum foil and place in the embers. Let them cook in the embers for up to half an hour, depending on their size. Remove, peel from the foil and remove the outer leaves. Serve the grilled artichokes with fresh white bread.
