In a frying pan with a lid, initially heat the oil, and a single kernel of corn on high heat.

Once the single kernel pops, add the remaining popcorn corn and cover the frying pan. Swirl occasionally.

When the corn stops making noise, meaning all the kernels have popped, pull the frying pan off the heat.

Carefully open the lid and sugar or salt the popcorn to taste and allow to cool.
