For the oriental spice cake, preheat the oven to 150 degrees. Mix spelt flour, baking powder, sugar and spices in a bowl.
Finely dice dates and figs and add. In a measuring cup, combine water, beet syrup and the egg. Then mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until well combined.
Finally, mix in the honey. Butter the loaf pan well and pour in the batter. Smooth it out. Put the tin in a preheated oven at 150 degrees for about 70 minutes.
The cake is done when no dough remains on the wooden stick. Allow the oriental spice cake to cool well and then remove it from the mold.
Mix the powdered sugar with the lemon juice and brush the cake with it.
