For the Movember cake, first preheat the oven to 180 °C and grease a small springform pan (diameter approx. 20 cm).
For the topping, prepare a Parisian cream according to this basic recipe.
For the cake, beat eggs with sugar until thick and fluffy. Sift flour with baking powder and stir into the batter alternately with oil and milk. Divide the dough in half. Mix cocoa powder with rum to a smooth paste and mix into one half of the dough.
Now pour the light and dark batter alternately into the springform pan, “stir” a few times with a fork and bake for about 45 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan.
Straighten the cake if necessary and cut in half in an s-shape (just cut an “S” in the middle). Place halves side by side and flip one over so both tops are facing up, forming a mustache shape. Pour Parisian cream into a piping bag and pipe onto the top of the cake.
Decorate the Movember cake with chocolate shavings or sprinkles to taste and serve.
