Gnocchi in Tomato Sauce

Instructions:

Rinse potatoes and cook in boiling water for about 25 minutes.

Peel onion and garlic clove, cut into cubes. Rinse basil and chop finely, except for a small bit for garnish. Cut ham into cubes.

Heat oil. Sauté onion and garlic. Add the tomatoes. Mash the tomatoes a little bit. Bring everything to the boil. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add basil and ham cubes.

Rinse the potatoes and remove the peel. Press through a potato ricer. Knead in curd cheese and flour. Season with salt and pepper. Shape into rolls on floured surface (approx. 2 cm ø) and then cut into pieces approx. 2 cm thick. Make grooves with a fork. Cook in enough boiling salted water until gnocchi rise to the surface. Drain. Serve with sauce and basil.

Tip: Always use an aromatic ham, it will give a wonderful touch to your dish!
