For the elderberry-apple jam, sort and wash the elderberries. Peel the apples and cut into cubes.
Put the fruit in a pot with cloves, water, cinnamon, juice of one lemon, grated lemon peel and preserving sugar.
Boil until all fruits are soft, stirring properly every now and then. Remove cloves and cinnamon sticks.
While still hot, pour the elderberry-apple jam into prepared and sterilized jars and seal them quickly.
