Clean the pointed cabbage, remove the stem and cut the cabbage into strips. Peel and chop the onion.

Grease the gratin dish. Preheat oven to 200 °C (convection oven: 180 °C /gas oven: level 4).

Brown cabbage strips in a frying pan with clarified butter. Steam onion and bacon cubes separately in a frying pan, remove from frying pan, set 2 tbsp aside. Mix the rest of the bacon with the minced meat. Season well with salt and freshly ground pepper.

Layer the minced meat mixture in the gratin dish and add the fried cabbage on top. Mix the eggs with the milk, season with salt and a pinch of nutmeg and pour over the casserole. Bake in the heated oven for about 25 min. Take out and sprinkle with remaining bacon.

It goes very well with mashed potatoes.
