Instructions:

Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a small bowl, mix and set aside.

In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla extract with a mixer until creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Add egg and yolks and mix until incorporated.

Add one-third of the flour mixture and mix in briefly. Do the same with the remaining flour mixture.

Using a wooden spoon, mix in the chocolate lentils and pieces.

Form balls of dough about 3 cm in diameter and place them on a sheet of baking paper. Press small chocolate pieces into the top of the balls. (These will be visible in the finished cookie.) Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour, or better yet, overnight.

Preheat oven to 180 °C before proceeding.

Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place 6 balls on it, spacing them well apart.

Bake cookies in preheated oven for 12 – 14 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for about 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then on a cooling rack.
