Spread a large salad bowl or serving platter with red lettuce leaves. Shred the iceberg lettuce, grate the carrots. Cut the celery into thin slices, and the pineapple into chunks. Pit and chop the dates, chop the nuts. Place the salad ingredients (except the nuts) in a suitable bowl and mix together. Stir together the dressing ingredients and pour over the leaf lettuce. Mix the leaf lettuce together.

Form the leaf salad into the prepared baking dish (serving platter) and sprinkle with the chopped nuts before serving.
