Caramel Apples with Salted Butter

For The Caramel:


Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut them into pieces. Put them in a saucepan with the sugar and a little water. Simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, then mash with a potato masher.

For the caramel, heat the sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

Once a golden brown caramel has formed, add the butter and stir everything together until hearty.

Reheat, adding a tiny bit of cream as needed to break up any lumps.
