For the short pastry, mix flour, powdered sugar, lemon zest, vanilla sugar, salt and possibly baking powder and place on the work surface. Make a well in the center.

Add the cold butter and the egg to the center and quickly work into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to rest for at least 1 hour.
