Crush the peppercorns, press the garlic cloves through a press, mix with all the other ingredients and leave for 1/2 hour. Now brush the meat with it and marinate in the refrigerator for a couple of hours with the lid closed.
Remove the meat from the refrigerator about 1/2 hour before grilling. Drain marinade well before grilling. Place the spareribs on an oiled grill rack and slide in about 15 inches away from the grill heating. During the grilling time of about 15 minutes, turn once to the other side and brush sparingly with the marinade from time to time.
