For the spicy curd cheese casserole with ham, mix curd cheese, milk, yolks and cornstarch. Add ham and onion and season with salt, pepper, garlic salt and thyme.
Beat egg whites until firm and fold into curd mixture. Grease a baking dish, pour in the curd mixture and smooth the top.
Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and spread the remaining butter in flakes on top. Bake at 220 °C for about 50 minutes, then sprinkle with chives.
