For the red cabbage with apple and cinnamon, peel the apples and cut into cubes. Melt half of the butter in a pot and fry the apples for about 5 minutes.

Add the cut red cabbage, also orange juice, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaves. Put the lid on and let it cook at a moderate temperature for about 45 minutes. Stir from time to time.

At the end, remove the bay leaves and cloves. Stir in a knob of ice-cold butter. If necessary, season again at the end. Then serve hot!
