Mix the mince well with the grated onion, breadcrumbs, eggs and spices and season to taste.
With wet hands, form a roast in the shape of a loaf of bread.
In a frying pan, render a few slices of bacon, add butter and brown the roast on all sides.
Cover with the bacon slices and cook over medium heat for about 45 minutes.
Baste the roast with beef broth in between. Boil the gravy and thicken it with cornstarch mixed with cold water, add sour cream if necessary.
Arrange the roast and serve.
