Clean chicory, peel off leaves one by one and cut away bitter stalks. Blanch leaves in boiling salted water with juice of one lemon and nutmeg for 5 minutes, then drain.
Finely dice bacon, fry in a frying pan and sauté chopped onion until golden. Add minced meat and roast for 5 min.
Season with salt and pepper and garlic powder.
Grease gratin dish with butter, layer chicory and mince and sprinkle shredded cheese over each layer. The last layer is chicory sprinkled with cheese, breadcrumbs and butter flakes. Bake at 200 °C for 15-20 min.
