For the celery vegetables with carrots, sauté the onion rings in oil until translucent. Clean vegetables, cut celery into short, diagonal slices, carrots into sticks and add.
Pour over some canned tomato sauce and cook, covered, until vegetables are firm to the bite. Divide the tomatoes into large pieces, add and bring to the boil briefly.
Season the celery vegetables with carrots with salt, pepper and basil.
