For the cabbage fritters, chop cabbage and cut a few times with a cradle knife. Peel and chop the onion.

Heat oil in a pot, brown sugar and onion, deglaze with vinegar, add white cabbage, salt and pepper.

Sprinkle with nutmeg and pour water. Cover and steam for half an hour until tender. Boil Fleckerl in salted water until al dente, strain, rinse and drain.
