Carrots are a mild vegetable that even the youngest ones can enjoy. Steamed it is good to nibble – especially if it is fun skewered. For babies it is pureed.
For toddlers: rinse carrots and potatoes, simmer in a little salted water for 25 minutes until the tubers are cooked. Peel off potatoes, peel off carrots. Cut into bite-sized pieces. Cut cheese into small slices. Using a wooden stick, skewer 1 piece each of lettuce, cheese, potato, lettuce, cheese, potato, cheese, lettuce and carrots. Place on a plate and microwave at 600 watts for 2 minutes or place briefly under the hot broiler. For the dip, mix chives with whipped cream until creamy and pour onto the plate.
For the baby: Cook the vegetables as described above. Chop the meat into very small pieces, put the vegetables through a blender, mix with parsley, meat, butter and milk until creamy. Stir in the grated apple.
