To prepare red cabbage first finely chop the red cabbage head. Then dice the onions and sauté them in a large pan in a little oil. Add the sugar, let it sizzle a bit and add the chopped red cabbage. Let everything steam well and stir again and again. Add the grape juice and apple juice to the pan and simmer on a low flame.
In the meantime, grate the apples and stir them into the red cabbage mixture. Stir in more balsamic vinegar, a little salt and the cloves and let simmer. When the red cabbage has the preferred consistency, whisk some water and the vanilla pudding powder in a glass and stir into the red cabbage. Bring to the boil again and serve.
