For the apple roses with puff pastry, roll out the puff pastry and cut each lengthwise into 6 strips. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Slice the apples into thin slices with a slicer.
They must still be pliable! Lay them like roof tiles on the puff pastry strips, leaving approx. 1 – 1.5 cm of the apple leaves sticking out on the upper side.
Roll up and place in a muffin tin with paper cups. Bake at 190 °C in the lowest rack of the oven for about 25 – 35 minutes. If the apples brown too quickly, simply cover with baking paper and bake until the pastry is done.
Dust the finished apple roses with powdered sugar.
