A simple but delicious cake recipe:
(*) For one tray
“Magic Advent”: chop dates, raisins, figs and plums and steep them in rum for one night. Coarsely crush nuts and roast in the stove at 200 degrees and cool.
Dough mixture: scrape out vanilla pod. Beat sugar, salt, eggs, lemon peel and vanilla pulp in a water bath until lukewarm. Quantity in food processor form and continue beating until it has a firm stand and repeatedly cooled to room temperature. Sift flour and baking powder together and mix gently.
Combine soaked rum fruit with 50 g flour and also mix gently. At the end add chopped cooking chocolate and coarsely crushed nuts.
Spread the baking tray with baking parchment, spread the dough mixture evenly on it and brush with milk. Bake in a heated oven at 200 °C top and bottom heat for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Cool the cake, turn it out of the baking tray, carefully remove the baking parchment and sprinkle with powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
Caramelize 50 g sugar, pull into long threads with a fork and cool on separate baking parchment.
Place sugar threads as decoration on the cake.
