For the curd cherry cake, mix sugar and fat until thick and creamy, then add the remaining ingredients except for the cherries and mix until creamy.
Pit the cherries, cut into quarters and fold in as well. Grease a cake springform pan (24 cm ø) and pour in the batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 75 minutes at 175 degrees. If the quark cherry cake gets too dark, cover briefly with aluminum foil.
