For the cherry pie, cream butter, both sugars and eggs until fluffy. Add vanilla essence. Grease cake pan and add ground nuts.
Toss the cake pan well with them, dumping the rest into the egg mixture. Mix the flours with the baking powder and stir briefly into the egg mixture, add the lemon juice and spread half of the mixture in the pan.
Spread the cherries on top, then spread the second half of the batter. Spread everything smoothly and bake in the oven preheated to 200 degrees on the lowest shelf for about 50 minutes.
Serve the finished cherry cake sprinkled with powdered sugar.
