For the wild rice and apple casserole, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Bring rice with salt and water to a boil and cook for half an hour until tender.
Coarsely chop walnuts, cut apples into small slices. Mix half of the maple syrup with apple, nutmeg, cinnamon and walnuts, mix everything together with the cooked wild rice.
Pour this mixture into a large, lightly greased ovenproof dish and bake in the heated oven for fifteen minutes.
Whip the cream with the remaining maple syrup until stiff, add the whipped cream to the warm dessert just before serving, sprinkle with cinnamon and decorate the wild rice and apple casserole with halved walnuts.
