Bring the syrup to a boil and stir through with the sugar as well as the butter until the quantity has cooled down. Then add the eggs and the spices. Add the bicarbonate dissolved in a little cold water. Then fold in most of the flour. Knead the dough well and let it rest for one night.

The next day, roll out the dough and cut out figures with different shapes of dough. Spread them out on a well-greased baking tray or on parchment paper. Bake on the middle shelf at 200 °C (hot air 175 °C) for about 8 minutes.
