A delicious mushroom dish for any occasion!
Seljanka s kisloj kapustoj is an Old Moscovian recipe.
Sauté the onion in half of the butter until soft, add the sauerkraut, cover and continue steaming. Peel the pickled apples, cut them into pieces and add them a little later. Stir and continue steaming. Fold in the flour.
Gut the fish, rinse, cut into large pieces and roast in the remaining butter.
Layer the sauerkraut alternately with the fish pieces in a low ovenproof dish, repeatedly seasoning the fish with pepper and sprinkling with dill or parsley. Top with the diced pickled cucumber and marinade mushrooms, pour over the fish roast stock and bake in the oven heated to 200 degrees.
Before serving, sprinkle with the breadcrumbs and serve hot.
