For the parrot cake, cream the soft butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Add the eggs in portions. Mix flour and baking powder and fold in.
Now divide the dough among as many bowls as you want to use colors. Mix the dough portions well with the individual colors.
Grease a small cake pan (about 22 cm) or line it with baking paper. Now spoon and pour one color at a time into the center of the cake pan.
The dough will run outwards on its own to form the colored rings. It is best to start with several spoonfuls of one color for the outer rings and use only 2 to 1 spoonful of batter per color towards the center, otherwise very thick rings will form in the middle.
Bake in the preheated oven at 160 °C for approx. 40 minutes (test with chopsticks).
