Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Cut the puff pastry sheets into 6 squares, lay them out on a tray and defrost.
Peel and fillet one orange. Boil the sugar with the orange juice, the orange fillets and the spices and infuse.
Peel one orange including the white skin with a kitchen knife and cut into 6 slices. Cut the marzipan into 6 slices. Cover the puff pastry slices with marzipan and an orange slice and drizzle with a little orange broth. Continue simmering the remaining stock until it becomes viscous.
Bake the slices for about 12 to 15 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Remove the spices from the broth.
Remove the finished orange slices from the stove, drizzle with a little orange stock, dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Tip: Cook only with high-quality spices – they are the be-all and end-all in a good dish!
