Put the flour in the bowl and keep back about a small cupful. Then stir the crumbled yeast with 1TL sugar and 4-6EL warm milk, form the mixture into a bulge in the middle of the flour. You can sprinkle a little more sugar on top, or a little flour. When this little dough begins to live, that is, to crack and also to “rise” a little bit, add all the ingredients, also the melted but cooled butter and a pinch of salt, the milk little by little and stir the dough until it becomes bubbly. It is then easy to prepare with your hands, add the remaining flour, only you must make sure that the dough remains supple and in no case becomes too firm. Let it rise in a warm place until it has approximately doubled in size.

Now knead it again lightly, roll it on the greased baking tray and cover it lavishly with crumble. (For streusel see separate recipe: Streusel zum Streuselkuchen).
