Peel apples, cut in half, remove the core and cut the fruit into thick slices. Immediately mix with juice of one lemon.
Boil the sweet cider. Stew the apple slices in it, just with the lid closed, until soft. Take out.
At the same time, cut the bacon into thin strips. Peel the onions, halve them and cut them into strips as well.
Heat the butter in a frying pan. Lightly fry the bacon in it. Next, add the onions and sauté until just tender. Remove from the frying pan.
In the drippings, lightly toast the bread slices on one side.
Place on a baking sheet with the toasted side up. Spread the bacon and onion mixture evenly on top. Top with the apple slices.
Remove the rind from the cheese and cut into slices. Form on the bread slices.
Meanwhile, bake the cheese slices in the middle of the oven heated to 200 degrees for 15 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle with freshly ground bell pepper and paprika.
Our tip: Use a bacon with a strong flavor – so you give this dish a special touch!
