For heather sand, cut butter into pieces, place in heated saucepan and allow to brown slightly.
Pour the melted, lightly browned butter into a large enough bowl and refrigerate until the butter is almost solid.
Beat the butter until creamy, sprinkling in the sugar and vanilla. Stir in the almond kernels, sift the flour over the butter mixture and mix everything together.
Knead the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for an hour. When the time is up, take the dough, shape it into rolls 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate again.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 °C and cut the dough rolls into 36 slices.
Place these slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for about 25 minutes. To round off the taste, dust the heather sand with powdered sugar.
