For the sour cherry chocolate cake, first pit the sour cherries. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with a little lemon juice until stiff (beat first, then add the lemon juice). Mix egg yolks, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar until foamy.
Add the oil, Ovaltine, melted cooking chocolate, the juice from the drained sour cherries and the spices and continue mixing. Mix the flour with the baking soda and stir in.
Mix in the sour cherries and gently fold in the egg whites. Pour into a greased and floured baking pan and bake the sour cherry chocolate cake at 170 °C.
