For the potato roast, boil the potatoes in their skins until soft, let them steam out, peel and slice them.
Peel and chop the onions, sauté in lard, add the potatoes and the remaining spices.
Fry until lightly golden, turning the potato slices with a spatula every now and then.
Serve the potato roasters as a side dish with meat or as a main course with salad.
