Beat eggs with sugar to a whitish cream. Add butter and fold in. Sift flour and fold in with grated lemon zest and salt. Put the whole in the refrigerator for one hour.
Roll out two-thirds of the dough to a thickness of about 3 mm and line a round baking tray (diameter 24 cm) with it. Spread jam evenly on the bottom of the dough.
Cut out small hearts from the remaining dough and arrange them overlapping on the edge of the dough to form a raised border. Arrange a cross on the cake with the remaining hearts.
Brush the dough twice with beaten egg yolks.
Preheat the oven to 160 °C and bake for about half an hour.

Cream the butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Add the eggs one at a time and fold them in. Combine the flour with the cocoa powder and baking powder, sift and stir into the mixture one tablespoon at a time. Finally, fold in the milk.
