Instructions:

A cake recipe for all foodies:

Preheat the oven to 200 °C.

Beat the egg whites until stiff. Beat the egg yolks and hot water with the sugar until pale yellow and thick and creamy.

Mix flour, cornflour and baking powder. Mold the egg whites onto the yolk mixture, sift the flour mixture on top, and gently fold it all together with a whisk.

Butter a deep baking tray and cover with parchment paper (the butter will prevent the parchment paper from slipping). Spread the sponge mixture on top and bake for about 14-15 min. Remove the baking tray and cool on a baking rack.

Take off about 6 tbsp of the water and mix the custard powder with it. Bring the rest of the water, sugar and juice of one lemon to a boil, add the mixed custard powder and stir for about 1 minute. Remove the saucepan from the stove and stir in the beaten yolks. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and add to the mixture while it is still hot. Then add the butter a little at a time and fold it in. Spread everything onto the sponge cake form and spread evenly. Wait until the lemon mixture has cooled down and is firm.

Whip the whipped cream with cream stiffener and vanilla sugar of choice until stiff and spread it on the cake, then cover it densely with butter cookies.

Stir sifted confectioners’ sugar with enough juice of one lemon to make an easily spreadable frosting, brush it onto the butter cookies. The cake well cooled
