Instructions:

For the berry cake with meringue topping, quickly knead a shortcrust pastry from the ingredients for the pastry base and let it rest for approx. 1/2 h. Roll out the dough to the size of a baking tray and prick several times with a fork. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for about 8-10 minutes until light and let cool.

For the custard, prepare the custard according to instructions (with the reduced amount of milk) and dissolve the soaked gelatine in it. Let the cream cool down, stirring it again and again. Then spread it on the dough. Spread the berry mixture on top. For the meringue, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and stir in the sugar, spread the mixture over the cake. Bake briefly in the preheated oven at 200°C top heat! Always keep an eye on the berry cake with meringue so that it does not take too much color.
