For the marzipan mixture:


For the Marzipanstriezel, first crumble the yeast into the milk, stir until smooth and let rest briefly. Then stir in the egg. Add two thirds of the flour, salt and sugar as well. Mix in the butter and finally knead in the remaining flour. Let rise for about 45-60 minutes.

In the meantime, mix marzipan, butter, sugar and cinnamon.

Knead the dough again and divide into 3 parts. Form each into rolls. Spread each roll with the marzipan mixture. Weave a Striezel. Leave to rise for half an hour.

Cover a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Whisk the egg to coat and brush the Striezel with it. Place the marzipan Striezel in the oven for about 20 minutes.
