Instructions:

Mix the chopped cabbage with salt and caraway seeds and let it stand for about 1 hour. Boil Fleckerln in plenty of salted water, strain, rinse with cold water and drain well. Heat oil or lard and caramelize sugar in it until light. Add finely chopped onions and fry. Stir in cabbage and fry as well. If necessary, add some soup or water. Season well with salt, pepper and caraway seeds and sauté the cabbage for about 30 minutes until crispy (dry rather than too liquid). Heat the Fleckerln again, mix with the cabbage and season to taste.
