Try this delicious cake recipe:

Slit the vanilla pod, scrape out the pith with a pointed kitchen knife and knead together with fat, sugar, flour and egg to form a firm dough. Rest in the refrigerator. Roll out dough to the thickness of the back of a knife, cut out stars with a medium sized cookie cutter. Cut out the inside of half of the stars with a smaller give, leaving only a frame. Place closed stars and frames as well as the small stars on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Brush star frames with whipped cream. Bake in heated oven at 175 °C (gas: level 2) for about 15 minutes. Spread the jam through a sieve, mix with butter, orange juice and the almond kernels until creamy. Spread on the large stars and place the frames on top. Mix powdered sugar with juice of one lemon and food coloring or raspberry syrup until creamy, glaze the small stars with it.
